What's Happening in Tampa?

While Tampa isn’t known as the “town that never sleeps”, it certainly does fit the description! The Tampa Bay area has so many amazing events happening in the coming weeks, and we don’t want you to miss out! Chicago-The Musical

This classic show is coming to Tampa’s Straz Center for the Performing Arts! Starting February 21st and running through the 26th, Chicago is a musical theater masterpiece, and is a perfect way to spend an evening out enjoying a show after dinner at one of the area’s amazing restaurants!

Strawberry Festival

The Strawberry Festival arrives March 2nd! It’s one of Central Florida’s biggest events, and draws major artists to the Wish Farms stage. This year the Strawberry Festival will showcase The Oakridge Boys, Walker Hayes, Willie Nelson and Family, Train, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Josh Turner, Halestorm, and Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, just to name a few! In addition to the amazing entertainment options, visitors can expect to enjoy some of the best strawberry shortcakes in the WORLD, a huge selection of strawberry treats and delicacies, award-winning BBQ, rides and entertainment for the kids, and more! Gasparilla Art Fest

For years, artists and art lovers from all parts of the country have been attending the Raymond James Gasparilla Festival of the Arts. Here, some of the country’s most accomplished artists and rising stars submit their work to compete for the $15,000 Raymond James Best of Show Award (and an extra $77,000 in prize money!). The festival showcases a wide variety of art mediums, from photography and sculpture, to watercolor and wood working. In addition to the amazing art on display, there are plenty of interactive exhibits for visitors of all ages, live entertainment, food and dining experiences, and so much more. It’s coming to Tampa March 4-5, so mark your calendars and save the date! 

Gasparilla Distance Classic

The Gasparilla Distance Classic is one of Tampa’s biggest running events. This race offers a 5K, 8K, 15K, and Half Marathon, so no matter your level of athleticism, there’s something for you! This year’s race is full, but it’s an annual event and registration for the 2024 race will be coming before you know it! Even if you can’t race, it’s still worth lacing up your sneakers and heading down to the course to watch the runners compete. Use the time to get fresh air, sunshine, and take a walk where you can soak in some of Tampa’s beautiful scenery. It’s a great way to promote your own health during Heart Health Month! Steve was born in New Orleans, Louisiana. As was the practice for new doctors his father worked day and night during his medical residency at Charity Hospital there. Steve comes from a long line of doctors. His father, his grandfather, his great grandfather, even two uncles were all specialists and/or surgeons in their chosen medical specialties, including internal medicine specialist, obstetrics / gynecology, neurosurgery and general practice / surgery. His great-great grandfather was the Surgeon General of Ohio during the Civil War.
