Several years ago while visiting Barcelona Spain our taxi passed a huge stadium that resembled Raymond James Stadium. Huge crowds of people flocked near a bus obviously transporting players. But…wait, Spain doesn’t have college or pro football. So, what sport was this. Actually, it was a soccer field more commonly known in European circles as “Association Football”. In the United States we call it “soccer”. The word “soccer” comes from a short version of the European terminology “As soc iation Football”. Somehow er was added to Soc to come up with the Soccer term.
At any rate soccer is foreign to me and many other Floridians. We did not have league soccer growing up as it wasn’t offered. Overtime soccer caught on in America and has become very popular. Although I still know little about Soccer I want to learn. Brooks Law Group is proud to announce that we our sponsoring a professional soccer team in Lakeland known as the Florida Tropics. We are also fortunate in that the Tropics are majority owned by a local physician at Bond Clinic, Dr. Panos Iakovidis, MD. Although I have never met Dr. Iakovidis he is known as a generous man with a heart for people. We are fortunate to have a man of his caliber leading this organization.
As Part of our sponsorship the tropics have allocated quite a few tickets to us we can give to you. If any of my family or friends are interested in attending a soccer game at the Lakeland Center please email me at [email protected] with a date and number of tickets. Please limit your requests to 4 tickets or less.
