The last few months of the year are always some of our favorite. There is a spirit of gratitude and giving back everywhere you look. Whether it’s the turkey giveaway we host every year, the toy drive for families in need, or something else. It is a precious time of year to give back to our community. This past weekend was no exception.
The 2019 Angel Tree Toy Run
As your trusted motorcycle accident law firm, we make sure to stay involved with as many local motorcycle events as possible. There are few more special than the annual Angel Tree Toy Run. This year was the 4th annual event. The event started at the Polk County Fire/Rescue Station and ended at Lakeland Harley-Davidson. All of the bikers taking part in the ride received a police escort and were greeted with free food and local vendors (including us!) upon arrival at Lakeland Harley.
For the past few weeks, we’ve held a donation box for unwrapped toys for this event. Thank you to everyone who stepped up and dropped off donations for children in need! Last year, the event was able to make sure that not a single child in Polk county that was a part of the organization went without a toy for Christmas. What an amazing event!
Prison Fellowship and the Angel Tree Program
What exactly is Angel Tree? Angel Tree is a program created by Prison Fellowship which focuses on providing children with incarcerated parents the presents for Christmas they might otherwise not receive. This year, more than 300,000 Angel Tree kids are being served by churches, businesses and community organizations. Angel Tree is a faith-based ministry that seeks to reach children of prisoners and their families with the love of Christ. Every Angel Tree family also receives a free copy of the Bible in English or Spanish.
Prison Fellowship is a ministry that was founded in 1976. The organization believes that no life is beyond His reach. They focus on transforming the lives of prisoners by providing events and programs in correctional facilities all across the United States. They have a heart for the families of the incarcerated too, which is why the Angel Tree event is such an amazing part of their ministry.
The Brooks Law Group Gives Back
We’re blessed to be sponsors in some amazing events across the communities we serve, just like the Angel Tree Toy Run. One of the core values of our firm is “Impacting Lives” and that is something we take seriously, beyond the legal guidance and representation we give to our clients. We’re dedicated to giving back every chance that we get. We wouldn’t be here without the support of our community, and that’s why it’s so important that we are investing what we receive back into those in need in our community.
Do you know of any events or organizations that are doing amazing work in the state of Florida? We’d love to here about them! You can reach out to us at [email protected] and share that with us, and we’ll make sure to take a look and see if it is something our firm is able to support!
