Driving into Tampa may take a long time – and frankly, depending on the traffic it can be frustrating. The view as you get closer can be breathtaking, it is just full of skyscrapers and buildings – something out of a movie. But, have you driven into Tampa “at rush hour” recently?
Construction in Tampa has caused frustration amongst many.
Located just ten minutes from our Tampa office in Ybor City is Kennedy Boulevard and Jackson Street. Unfortunately, the construction going on there has been causing traffic jams making it difficult to exit the Bank of America’s tower garage on Ashley Drive.
Other workers around the area have also been complaining about missing child care pick-ups and other family obligations.
Aside from road work there are also other construction projects going on in the area which may also contribute to the problem.
When will the construction in Tampa end?
The Department of Transportation, spokeswoman Kris Carson, stated that the work began in November and is estimated to end mid-September. Unfortunately, it seems like there appears to be no quick solution or remedy to the traffics jams. However, the city council is working hard on finding a solution – at council member’s Harry Cohen’s request, the city staff is to present an action plan on July 19.
Although that part of construction is bound to finish this year, there is more coming. The Water Street Tampa development and JW Marriott hotel have been approved to expand and will have construction going on .
Tampa is growing, and the growing pains can be very difficult.
