Florida social security disability attorney Steve Brooks talks about how long your social security claim may take.

While each case is unique, there are some typical wait times we can discuss. Your initial application can take 3 to 6 months. However, 70% of all claims are denied initially. If you have to file a re-consideration, this may take another 3 to 6 months and this time nearly 90% of all cases are denied. To appeal any decision you have 60 days to do so. If you wait to file your appeal late in the allowed period you can easily wait another 4 months. Be sure to file appeals immediately. Getting an attorney involved allows someone who knows the process to help make sure deadlines are met and gives you a better chance for your claim to move faster. Watch the video to learn more.
