The 10th Annual Turkey Giveaway Was A Success

Last Saturday, November 19th, we were thrilled to hold our Turkey Giveaway for the 10th year! This year we partnered with other local organizations to provide Thanksgiving turkeys and many of the needed trimmings to give local families in need a holiday meal. Why? Because we believe no family should go without a holiday meal and a reason to gather with the ones they love. Strong families build strong communities, and we stand behind bringing people together. Our annual Turkey Giveaway is one small way we can contribute to this movement of community involvement.

During the giveaway, dozens of people lined the streets near our Winter Haven office, waiting in line to register and then waiting to hear their name called to receive their holiday bird. During this wait time, it was a privilege to meet our neighbors, hear their stories, and offer them community and fellowship no matter where they are in life at this time. Some are looking forward to seeing children or grandchildren at their Thanksgiving meal, able to be hosted thanks to the help they receive through the giveaway. Others plan to host friends who have nowhere else to gather on holidays. Knowing they’ll be together and hearing about the impact of these simple turkeys on families in our area is the highlight of our year.

Thank you to everyone who participated in this year’s giveaway. Local organizations, volunteers, and our own Brooks Law Group staff made it possible for us to minister to Winter Haven again this year, and we appreciate it more than you know.
