meals on wheels

Brooks Law Group is no stranger when it comes to making a difference in the community. We are very lucky to have a staff of individuals that love to make a difference, no matter the multitude, in the lives of others. After seeing the hundreds of people line up for our annual Turkey Give-Away, we have recognized the need and decided to give back to the community in a more consistent way in 2017. Brooks Law Group will be adopting a ‘Meals on Wheels’ route.

Every week, the Brooks Law Group staff members will come together to deliver meals to those in need. For many of our senior citizens in the Winter Haven and surrounding areas, this program is a means of independence. Unfortunately for some, it is a means of survival. Kelli, our Administrative Assistant went on her first ride-along this morning and she came back and shared her experience.

“These people are genuinely happy to see you at their door. They ask you how you are doing and thank you from the bottom of their heart for making sure they got a meal today. As a volunteer, you get to know the people you are delivering to and start to build relationships with them. I can say by the end of the day, I was very humbled by the experience and I’m glad I could help my community”

We are excited for what 2017 will bring for us and we encourage others to get involved so they too can give back to their community.
